Starting on 8/28/2012, Sony released the "PlayStation Collection" lineup. Debuting with the God of War Saga, inFamous Collection, and the Ratchet & Clank Collection, the Killzone Trilogy and Resistance Collection releasing by the end of 2012.

By the end of 2012, 5 collection packs were in this set, Best of PSN Volume 1 released in 2013, being the only "PlayStation Collection" title to release that year, followed up in 2014 with the Sports Pack Vol. 1. With the exception of the Resistance Collection, all releases have a special gold label disc, as well as a small gold banner on the front artwork and on the spine.
